What is a fluter?
A fluter is someone who creates a very unique type of art.
Finger flutings are a type of cave painting, the earliest known forms of visual communication. fluters could create complex designs and symbols by sweeping their hands across a soft surface. The results were distinctive lines etched into prehistoric cave walls. The purpose of these carvings is unknown, but their creators clearly needed to express ideas visually. This cave art is also the earliest known example of recording an idea; for the first time; communication could be recorded and referred to later.
Regardless of the fluter’s intent, the impression they made has lasted thousands of years.
